This Iceberg has been stuck close to the glacier for over a month and a half, meaning that it's extremly likely to be touching the ground beneath the water. In the immediate area around the Iceberg the lagoon reaches depths of around 80meters. So it's true that you're only seeing the tip of the Iceberg. Photo by @andrew_abroad
I'm studying hard for my next work assignment: my third season in the High Arctic. It will be an absolute privilege to be sailing again in these waters with @LindbladExp, next week. First off, Svalbard in search of my favourites - seaducks, walrus and beluga whales (among other beasties).

Take a hike! 🥾 In Qaqortoq, Nanortalik, and Narsaq, I did — with local contacts and discussed #jobs#mining and more. A great way to better understand people and places. In you can also hike to sites. Next stop Narsarsuaq. Guess what? I’ll take a hike there too. isbjerge 🇺🇸🇬🇱

THE ROYAL ARCTIC LINE is a greenlandic shipping company, based in Nuuk. This supply vessel is on its way to the port of Tasiilaq to fill the supermarkets with food and other necessary things. Due to the sea ice conditions a supply for East Greenland is not possible during the winter month. As a rule, the first supply ship arrives Tasiilaq in June and the last in October. From Tasiilaq the other settlements are supplied with smaller ships. I am convinced that Global Warming and its effects on the sea ice will lead to changes in shipping routes. For example, ...

Confession: We came to Valdez to fish, but the longer we spent here the less we heard about the fishing and the more we heard about Capt. Fred and his magical the vessel the Lu-Lu Belle. When someone tells us something we listen. When lots and lots of people tell us the same thing we really listen. Our day on the water in Prince William Sound was everything we could have wished for and so much more! Captain Fred is part historian, part comedian, part naturalist and 100% a true Alaskan waterman. We’re going to make ...
This is Jökulsárlón, the glacier lagoon in the South of Vatnajökull, you can find icebergs in it and it's a very beautiful place in the South East of Iceland 😍😊❤ Fun fact: They filmed a scene of one of the James Bond movies here and they froze the whole lagoon just for it. 😎🎥🎬 #glacier#iceland
A Sea of Contrasts. The weather in Antarctica is an every changing force. The cloud scapes were fantastic every day and the light made the icebergs gleam. Antarctica. Canon 1dxmkii, EF100-400 f/4.5-5.6ii at 100mm, 1/1250 sec at f/7.1, ISO 200.
This is another shot from my "lost archives" and it's fast becoming one of my absolute favourite images. It's so funny how our eyes can skim over things the first time around, if an image is not what we are looking for at that particular moment in time, and how it can be such a revelation many years later! I love that this shot has a real #slimaarons feel to it, with vintage summertime vibes and poolside hangs. 💦 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #melbournephotographer
Newfoundland: where everything is meant to be but nothing goes as planned. After arriving in Twillingate we thought our hopes for icebergs were dashed only to stumble upon a zodiac tour through @icebergquest - thanks to the wonderful Captain Barry Rogers we got to see this beauty!!! #icebergs#icebergsnl
