Have you been to Tanzania or Kenya? What was your favorite part? I hope to visit there in the next 5 years, it would be a super cool experience. 🇹🇿🇰🇪 What’s next on your 5-year bucket list? ☺️ Pic by @vagaway • • • • #africa#safari
Everything is so lush and green what with all the rain and the swelling approach of Midsummer. The grasses are peaking in gorgeousness - this one hangs heavy with the funk of her pollen... #midsummer#grassland
Another portrait (see also 14-15 posts back) of a lilac-breasted roller - this time seen @sabisands adjacent to @krugernationalpark. Irresistibly beautiful every time I see them, they are one of my favorite small birds. One has to look carefully but these very colourful little creatures can sometimes be seen perched high up from where they can spot their prey - including insects, lizards, rodents etc . Also known as fork-tailed rollers and lilac-throated rollers.................................................. #portrait#lilacbreastedroller ...
Another, clearer, portrait of a Southern red-billed hornbill sunning itself @sabisands adjacent to @krugernationalpark. Beautiful birds but sometimes hard to photograph in dense bush and this was a much easier sighting. The rangers sometimes jokingly refer to these birds as “tomato-bills” to distinguish them from the “banana-bills” a.k.a. Southern Yellow-billed Hornbills. Both, in my view, are very beautiful birds. ......................... #portrait#southernredbilledhornbill ——————————————@tydonsafaris
Howdy 👋. Attempted this #pencilsketch of an #african . I know it is still very amateurish but I may be into something...I hope😬. As always, your comments, opinions and critiques are always welcomed below 🙏. Have a great Monday afternoon. Best regards ✌.
"Tuberous desert-chicory (Pyrrhopappus grandiflorus) only grows on one bluff at Gjerloff Prairie. In fact, it may be one of the few known populations in Nebraska - the very northern extent of its range. The beautiful lemon yellow flowers open for a short time at the end of May. 💛” . . . #prairie#nativeprairie Pictures and caption by @nebraskaprairie
Lost in the golden hay were my silliest thoughts, Hiding from cold to survive and rot, Right then you found them all, And right there you rescued them all, Oh mountains, how do you know it all! . #rupinpasstrek#trek
