La laguna de Guatavita was used to be the ceremonial site where the Indians Muisca celebrated their ceremonies. First time I ve visited this lake I felt there is something spiritual. CDT memories continued (day 17)...My day (one year ago) started with a pretty decent elevation gain up to 12k+. It was beautiful and I was happy to rejoin (find) the main trail. It was also a bit cold. I made a choice to stop before I went up and over the 13k' stretch. One late afternoon storm rolled in and I did not want to be caught on iffy terrain and exposed overnight. I think my campsite 100 meters up above the waterfall was choice (in pic 9, it is the little yellow speck looking down valley toward distant peaks). ...
