Fire trail time was just what I needed today. It was my lowest mileage weekend in a short while but wow, did I learn a lot in two runs that were “the same” and also incredibly different. Once again, knowing I had team out there helped pulled me through a largely solo run. Today I let the mist and mud energize me. I played on the downhills, took time to stretch and look up and listen, and saw well over a dozen dogs, two rabbits and a deer. It was just the run I needed to wash down yesterday’s. ...
When you are out in the field, you have to use what’s available around you to the best of your ability. The ground was muddy, slippery and on a decent slope. This tree offered refuge and helped keep my prints clean. There is something so special about Japan and their forests.
Chilly morning for solo adventures in the mountains. Did a little recon of a new trail, visited Boarding House Dam, came out via Turners Walking Track to Watagan HQ and then back following the firetrail through Heaton Lookout and down Heaton Gap. Lots of puppies out for an afternoon walk between the lookout and Heaton Gap😍👣🌿 . . . @inov8_australia #xtalon200 @nswnationalparks @visitnswforests @lakemacquarietourism #watagansnationalpark
Change of date for the thing that’s not happening. Pulled the trigger early and forgot about another bike-related commitment. To avoid a clash with Fathers Day, and to keep it true to its name, this will now not be happening on the last day of Winter. Apologies if this stuffs anyone’s plans, but given it’s not happening, no effect should felt anyway. #notarace#unsupported
With the #ncxs19 coming to #creswick next week, we wandered down to today to check out the race venue. Despite the rain, workers were out getting the course ready. As you can see, they had a team of volunteers out keeping the grass down and ensuring the water feature was up to standard. 🤦♂️ 🦘🦆
I love touring, but I also love the hard tracks. Been too long since we got out in the cruiser so here is a flashback from monkey gum fire trail in yalwal near Nowra, where we unfortunately sheared the rear axle studs 😩 It was a long weekend #landcruiser#toyota @flexnation4wdclub
With round 3&4 of the @mtbaust #ncxs19 less than 2 weeks away, here’s a look at the race plate you’ll be wearing. Mark from #printrunnz has done a great job. Add to this a couple of sleeve numbers and that means a lot of pins. We will have pins, but bringing spares is always a good idea. Been plenty of rain recently, it might be a rather slippery affair....😉 @lepechegourmand ...
Long run at Merseylea this morning. It was very cold (nice layer of frost on my buff) and thick fog everywhere. A maze of fire trails and forestry roads which drained my confidence in where I was at one point. Lovely as always to be able to get out and about . . . #tastrails#tasmaniantrailrunner
15 km hike today from the boxvale track to forty foot falls and bushbashing up a mountain to go under the motorway to find a firetrail that leads to the 60 foot falls. Totally worth the 5.5 hour adventure. #dry#60footfalls
After a longer than expected hike down the incline track and through the nattai gorge I made it to 40 foot falls with just enough light for a selfie. Now for the hike back in the dark #nattaigorge#nattainationalpark
About the only YEEEEWW section on the 7km climb to Broko, just enough to squeeze the lactic out 👌🏼 #firetrail#bombinghills : : @eastcoastmountaincrew @epic_trails_illuminati @illawarrasbestmtbpark @wollongongbikehub @intensecyclesoz @srammtb @magura_official @magura_au_nzl @nextiebikes @cushcore @maxxisbikeau @pushindustries @nsdynamicsmtb @absoluteblack.cc @fisthandwear @fishfingered @foxmtb
Chilly morning for adventures showing Stacey a little section of the rainforest on the Great North Walk near Heaton Lookout. I finished off our run with a couple of repeats of Heaton Gap (she ditched me for the repeats😂)👣🌿 . . . @inov8_australia #xtalon200#watagansnationalpark
Spent the holiday in the absolute most #colorado way possible... Overnight in a #lookout at 11,486 feet. The was built in 1925 by the city of and is among one of the highest lookout towers in the United States. I have been trying to book this thing for 2 years straight and finally got lucky 6 months ago and somehow scored it over a holiday weekend. The had to trek up on foot over a mile and a half over a covered in everything we needed for the stay, including all our ...
Did you get down to Hammon Park today? Over 220 riders including the current and former national champs were racing in near-perfect CX conditions. Some awesome. Racing on a technical, challenging and FUN course. It returns on June 22/23 so if you missed out this time, make sure you come down to see the very best in the country battle it out. #viccx#cyclocross
Well that was fun! Round 4 of the VIC CX series (and the return of the dirty rat to Creswick) is done and dusted. Not many years ago it was hard to get kids to ride to school. Now we have National Champions coming to race. We want to make Hammon Park the Home of CX 👊🏻👊🏻 HEAPS of photos on the club FB page with all 📸 credit going to @wakkatoo We will do it all again in about a month for the double header round of the National Series. #viccx#cyclocross ...
