DID YOU KNOW? Every other breath we take comes from the sea. More than half our planet’s oxygen is produced by tiny ocean-dwelling organisms called phytoplankton that absorb carbon dioxide from our atmosphere. Over a billion people around the globe rely on the oceans for their primary food source, including many of the world’s most marginalized people. Our oceans also regulate climate and temperature to make our planet habitable. Without our oceans, we could not survive. 💙

I did some cold (55F/13C), but rewarding diving at Poor Knights Islands in New Zealand. The coldest water I have ever dove. Amazing walls of color and kelp forests. So many nudibranches and bryozoans and sponges that I haven't seen in warmer water. We only had a go pro so no good macro shots. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #divetutukaka#tutukaka
Loads of awesome fish life, epic examples of colour and life in our Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve and if you look close, you will see a clown nudibranch on the sponge covered and encrusted rocks. 🤩😍 📸Darren Spratt #poorknightsislands#divetutukaka

Amazing drone shot of our boat Calypso, in Calypso Bay, both are named after Jacques Cousteau's original research boat Calypso. She anchored here in December 1986, and Jacques famously declared the Poor Knights as in one of the top ten dive sites in the world. A gentle cloud of blue maomao seemingly lift @magentaoceans out of the water in Middle Arch, at the Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve. Photo taken by the talented @rachstewartnz A marine reserve since 1998 is an incredible place to visit. #poorknights#divetutukaka @perfectdaycruise
Brightly coloured and a member of the Polyceridae whanau. A sea slug is a slightly less glam title for this well dressed nudibranch. Tambja sp macro shot taken by @simone_matucci #poorknights#poorknightsislands
