✔️ Canyonlands.
I'm not sure anyone can comprehend from the picture, just how vast this expanse really is. Try to focus on a green dot and realize that's a tree. The top middle section is a deep chasm. It was over load for the mind of a girl who lives in thick forested mountains. #utah#canyonlandsnationalpark park.
Almost 3900 miles costing us around 550$ on gasoline. 4 camping nights (160$) 2 hotel reservations(150$) 1 night at the cabin(60$) 3 night spent in our friend's house 🏠🙏 80$ for a national parks membership🌳🌲🌱 And keep in mind, there are 4 of us👨👩👦👦 And surely we had to eat, but we took some food for cooking (we had our camping gas stove) at the campgrounds. Maybe we spent 25-30$ a day for some pancakes/eggs/icecream and stuff, for the total of 10 days. So our starting point was in Illinois and our first stop was a little #koacamping ...
Recently watched 127 Hours and it’s a crazy story that took place in #canyonlandsnationalpark shown here. It reminded me to always bring the right gear for the adventure and always tell someone where I’m going and when I will back. #127hours
Canyonlands was simply breathtaking. I honestly thought it was more impressive then when I visited the Grand Canyon in 2016. I'm going to start posting my pictures daily of Utah because I don't want to post them all at once and it just be spam.
Thank you to this crew of dirtbags who helped me start my 5th decade of life in a hue of red sand and white sunscreen. Much love to everyone near and far for the amazing birthday light. #whaddyasayboys#giddyupgirls
Sunrise at Mesa Arch. Waking up for sunrise is always hard but certainly worth the effort. Of course, the popularity of this particular location meant I would’ve had to camp out a few hours if I wanted to claim a spot under the arch, which definitely was not going to happen in those super cold temps. No matter though. Any other spot was a perfect place to witness the beauty of first light illuminating the Canyonlands. Still managed to snag a great shot under the arch though! Definitely miss that crispy sound of walking in snow.
I'm a little upset with myself. I chose work over my family reunion in Trinidad and my grandfather's last trip ever. My mom said he may not be with us much longer and I wish I put that before my attendance at work. I can always make up a day but I cant make up a family reunion like this.
In my previous post we had used our bikes to get out to this beautiful location...what a contrast from full daylight to this sunset... #canyonlandsnationalpark is such a beautiful place! The peace that you experience while traveling and shooting these amazing locations can’t be put into words. The only way is to see if for yourself and breath it in. I also want to thank @robswildlife for sharing this location. 😊 #landscapephotography @billaverette
Currently a bit over Instagram😐it is continually feeling more and more like a high school popularity contest....and side rant...I just want to say I hate the term “creative” used in noun form. The word is an adjective used to describe how something is done. I can only speak for myself, but when I take a photo...I personally didn’t create a damn thing. Whatever is in said photo was already there and I merely documented it.🤷🏼♂️ * * * #moodygrams#currentmood
Funky Tree on the Syncline Loop | 2017 ... the Syncline Loop was a strenuous all day hike in the Island in the Sky district and my absolute favorite part of our trip to #canyonlands ! For those of you who love to #hike AND take pictures, what type of do you take on your long hikes? My 🦖 T1i is too big to carry, so I just carry my phone. I’d love a more compact camera for long hikes and backpacking trips. Any suggestions??
