38th birthday weekend in the books🎂🥳⛵️ My beautiful boys, boats, beach walks & fort making, & so much chocolate coconut cake! Thank you “Mother Superior” for putting the sweet in w/ the bitter...for this birthday to be one to remember forever🙏💙
Our goal for today was to find Dax a place to get her #zoomies out of her system. Our dogs have been great travel companions so far, but occasionally they need some off leash play. Goal achieved! We found a secluded little beach at the end of a dead end road.
TREMENDOUS 22 The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore consists of 21 Lake Superior islands, just off Wisconsin's northern coast. It's home to more lighthouses than any other NPS area, featuring 8 historic towers on six islands, as well as sandstone sea caves and a plethora of cool critters, ranging from densely populated black bears to nesting birds like the great blue heron. We’ve been eating better than ever during this adventure... this is our prep for curry at Basswood Island in the apostle islands. We kayaked there on a four day kayak camp trip. We always backpack with fresh veggies despite the weight, and are especially happy when we find a farmers market before our trip. #heavyweightbackpacking . . On a different note, if you go to the apostle islands, don’t go to basswood island mid-summer. It is a rock quarry swarming with bugs. We wore head nets, deet and had a smoky fire whenever we were outside and still got eaten ...
Apostle Islands Trip 2019 Camped 2 nights on Oak Island after kayaking from Red Cliff. Also kayaked from Oak to Raspberry Island to tour the lighthouse. The water was calm (not typical) for the most part and our campsite was next to a beach. It was a great trip! See my story for more photos from our trip 😊
